New Year, New Kitchen?

Osborn Glass > Interior > New Year, New Kitchen?
Whited Painted Toughened Glass - Osborn Glass

With 2020 finally coming to a close, we’re looking forward to 2021 (some of us were looking forward to it back in March!). If you’ve been putting off updating your kitchen because of tight lockdown budgets, January is the time to find a bargain. And if you do, why not complement that kitchen with a bespoke glass element?

Is the kitchen the new heart of the home?

Some say that the living room is the heart of the home, and mostly we’d agree. But in open, modern spaces, the kitchen can be just as much the heart as any other room. And ensuring your kitchen stands out while suiting the style of your home is important.

The rise of Instagram, and the trend of sharing our homes with others, means that you and other homeowners are craving those picture-perfect spaces. Spaces that should reflect personality. The proofs in the posting, with hashtags like: #HouseTour, #InteriorDesire, #HomeReno and #HouseEnvy racking up over half a million posts before lockdown this year.

Not to mention there’s a retail value attached

A well-designed kitchen isn’t just good on the eyes, and the functionality of a home. There’s a retail value attached to putting effort into your kitchen project. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has found that a new kitchen can add 4% more value to your home.

And it’s easy to understand why. Buyers are easily put off when they see a daunting task, regardless of the size. The kitchen is a heavily frequented space, and if it looks uninviting, and poorly functioning, it’s a major put-off.

A glass splashback gives your kitchen something unique

Because we can manufacture glass to suit your desire, your splashback could be unlike any other. Whether you want an antique effect, a coloured effect, a painted or an etched effect, it can all be done.

Match the design to your colour palette, or experiment with something different. But in your kitchen, using glass gives you plenty of ways to stand out, and of course, protect your walls from dirt and grime.
