At Osborn Glass, we specialise in creating bespoke glass installations that combine style, practicality and expert craftsmanship. For this residential project in South-West London, we were asked to design and install a custom antique mirror feature wall that would transform a plain entrance hallway into a bright, elegant focal point.
The finished installation not only enhanced the property’s interior but also reflected natural light throughout the space, making the hallway feel larger, warmer and more welcoming.

Our client wanted a bespoke feature wall that would bring personality to an otherwise bland hallway. They were looking for a premium antique mirror finish that would create visual interest without the harsh reflection of a standard mirror.
Alongside the design, practicality was equally important. The finished installation needed to be easy to maintain, durable and seamlessly integrated into the existing space with minimal disruption during installation.
Every bespoke mirror project presents its own unique challenges. During our detailed site survey, we found that the wall was slightly out of square and included two electrical socket outlets that would require precise cut-outs.
Getting the proportions of the mirror design right was also essential. To help the client visualise the finished result, we produced a scaled drawing and guided them through our extensive GLX Antique Mirror collection, selecting the finish that best suited their home and interior style.
Once the design was approved, we manufactured each mirror panel to the exact measurements taken during our survey. Using 6mm foil-backed safety mirror with beautifully polished bevelled edges, every panel was finished in-house to ensure exceptional quality and consistency.
Before installation, a qualified electrician safely removed the electrical sockets, allowing us to install the mirrors with millimetre-perfect accuracy before the sockets were reinstated.
The bespoke mirror panels were professionally bonded to the wall, creating a flawless feature wall with clean lines and an elegant finish.
From survey to installation, the project was completed within 7-10 days, with the installation itself taking just one day.
Every stage of the process was carefully managed by our experienced team, from precise measuring and manufacturing through to installation, finishing and final cleaning. Working in the entrance hallway allowed us to complete the installation efficiently while causing minimal disruption to the client’s home.
The completed antique mirror feature wall completely transformed the entrance hall. The bespoke GLX antique mirror finish introduced warmth, texture and depth while softly reflecting light to make the space feel brighter and more spacious.
The client was delighted with the craftsmanship and attention to detail, commenting:
“We can’t believe how well all the elements fit so well together – true craftsmanship.”
Projects like this showcase how bespoke antique mirrors can create a luxurious design feature while remaining practical and easy to maintain. Whether it’s a feature wall, splashback or decorative mirror installation, we work closely with every client to deliver a solution that’s made to measure and built to last.
