Fire resistant glass from Osborn Glass
We supply fire resistant glass with varying levels of protection – measured in particular time periods (30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes) and in terms of either integrity and insulation or integrity only, as designated by European Standards. Fire resistant can be supplied as a multi-laminated or modified toughened glass, approved in either wood, steel or in aluminium framing systems. Fire resistant glass has excellent acoustic insulation properties, can incorporate into a double glazed unit with any other glass and could be butt jointed.
We stock the most commonly used variety of 30 minute fire rated laminated glass (not to be confused with regular laminated glass).
Unlike the more traditional forms of wired fire rated glass – which we also supply, fire rated glass has the general appearance of plain glass, although thicker.
To be effective the fire rated glass must be installed as part of a tested and approved glazing system and installed by specialists.
